Lean Into Grace by Stacey Pardoe

I was thrilled to see this book by Stacey Pardoe, one of favorite writers, so I knew it would be good.

So good in fact, I’d say it’s lifechanging.

In her book, Stacey vulnerably shares her personal life struggles and how God has ministered to her through some very dark places.

Many of these struggles most of us can relate to such as negative body image, emotional eating, losing our temper, miscarriage, fear of failure, unrealistic expectations and many more.

At the beginning of each chapter, Stacey offers a Grace Takeaway. This not only sets a hopeful tone for each chapter but gives the reader something to savor as they read.

Like talking to a girlfriend, you are able to exhale and relax knowing you’re not alone in things most of us are afraid to admit we struggle with, much less discuss.

Then you can inhale the hope Stacey offers graciously given to her by the Lord and some godly mentors in her life.

She shares insights and practices anyone can implement to live freely and wholly as God intended for His beloved (that’s you and me friend!).

But she doesn’t leave you there. At the end of each chapter, she provides questions for reflection and discussion either for personal use or for group study so we can grab hold and apply her freedom techniques in our own lives.

So, if you or someone you know are ready to give up the lies of the enemy and live in true beauty and freedom, this book is for you!

Draw Near by Hadassah Treu

“Are you ready to go?”, my husband asked wondering what was keeping me.

“Yes, I just can’t stop reading my friend’s book,” I replied.

If you are looking for hope in dark places life inevitably throws our way, Hadassah Treu’s book Draw Near is exactly what you are looking for.

Through what seems like countless trials, she shares how the Lord brought her through some of the darkest times in life such as depression and anxiety, abuse, suicidal thoughts, infertility, the death of a spouse among others.

Hadassah not only shares trials from her own life, but how many people in the Bible struggled as well and the gifts we can glean from such hard times.

She talks about the “Gains and Losses” – things we gain from the Lord during these trials and ungodly things we need to lose.

The amazing depth of wisdom and insight she has gleaned from such trying times can only come from one who has been led out of deepest pit by God Himself.

To solidify this hope in our own lives, at the end of each chapter, Hadassah shares four different sections of truths to claim, ponder, and implement in our own journey back to healing and wholeness after such mind-numbing blows.

Savor the healing truths in this book. It will be a balm to your weary soul.
